Dear friends,
the implementation of the EU Green Deal by the Purple Government in the Czech Republic will cause an economic disaster and poverty for Czech citizens. The SPD calls on the Fialova government to immediately stop implementing any part of the Green Deal into the Czech legal system, even at the cost of conflict with the EU institutions. We will be running in 21 of the 27 Senate districts. In the remaining districts we are ready to support candidates close to our programme. The Senate is important for pushing through the referendum and other important changes to the Constitution. Joe Biden has long been unable to serve as President. We are confident in Donald Trump's success in the presidential election. The Fial government has been liquidating Czech industry and construction for a long time. The SPD movement has a solution ready, which must be preceded by the end of the five-coalition government.
1. </strong></strong>
The government of Petr Fiala will discuss the approval of the Czech version of the EU Green Deal. This comprehensive document contains a number of measures that will massively increase the cost of living for Czech citizens and reduce the competitiveness of Czech companies - from more expensive petrol, diesel, coal and gas to much stricter standards for new buildings and a new concept of control and regulation of forestry. A key instrument of these standards is then to be the extension of the system of emission allowances from 2027 to heating, housing and transport. For example, gas is to be made more expensive by 30 %, coal by 50 % and fuel (petrol and diesel) is to rise by double digits per litre! The introduction of these EU standards into Czech law will result in an economic and social disaster for the Czech Republic, the end of energy self-sufficiency and security, a massive increase in unemployment, poverty, budget deficit and national debt with all conceivable negative consequences. The SPD movement has always and consistently, as the only political force in the Czech Republic, spoken out clearly and firmly against all the measures of the EU Green Deal, while the other parliamentary parties have so far supported and approved them. We therefore call on the government of Petro Fiala to immediately stop implementing any part of the EU Green Deal in the Czech legal system, even at the cost of conflict with the EU institutions. The SPD will initiate the withdrawal of the Czech Republic from the EU Green Deal, including the lifting of the ban on the production of vehicles with internal combustion engines and other consequences arising from the Green Deal.
2. We will run in 21 of the 27 Senate districts. In the remaining districts, we are prepared to support candidates who are close to us programmatically. The Senate is important for passing the referendum and other important changes to the Constitution.</strong>
The SPD has completed the registration of our candidates for the September Senate elections. We will have candidates in 21 of the 27 Senate districts. In 18 districts the candidates are nominated by the SPD, in 3 cases they are candidates of our coalition partner - the political party Trikolora. In the remaining 6 districts (Prague 2, Prague 4, Teplice, Náchod, Šumperk and Zlín), the SPD is ready to support candidates who are close to its programme. Our main electoral programme points are, in particular, helping people to get out of foreclosure traps, supporting affordable housing for young Czech working families with children, massive construction of homes for the elderly, supporting farmers and local entrepreneurs and tradesmen, preserving and protecting freedom of speech and expression, adopting a law on a general referendum or on the material responsibility of politicians. If the current opposition parties win next year's House elections, the composition of the Senate will be very important for the eventual approval of amendments to the Constitution (the Referendum Act) or electoral laws (abolition of postal voting), where the House and the Senate must be in agreement and where the House cannot override the Senate.
3. Joe Biden has been unable to serve as president for a long time. We believe in Donald Trump's success in the presidential election.</strong>
US President Joe Biden's withdrawal from the presidential campaign is the result of a long-delayed cover-up of the fact that Biden is no longer fit to hold office, let alone possibly serve another term. The SPD believes in the success of the Republican candidate Donald Trump, who last week accepted the nomination for the US presidential elections in November and has repeatedly declared that, if he wins these elections, he will bring peace to the world and quickly end the war in Ukraine, which has already cost so many lives and destroyed countless innocent families. The SPD supports an end to the conflict and rejects the sending of arms and ammunition to Ukraine by the US, NATO, the EU and the government of Petro Fiala.
4. Fial's government has been liquidating Czech industry and construction for a long time. The SPD movement has prepared a solution, which must be preceded by the end of the five-coalition government.</strong>
Industrial production and construction output in the Czech Republic continued to fall. According to the latest data from the Czech Statistical Office, industrial production fell by 3.2 % year-on-year and by 2.2 % month-on-month. This decline was the largest since last September. The performance of Czech industry is currently at a similar level to where it was in April 2017, seven years ago, which is disastrous. The decline in industrial output has been mostly driven by a reduction in motor vehicle production. Construction output fell by as much as 6.8 % year-on-year and 5.1 % month-on-month. Housing starts fell by 18.2 %! These figures are alarming and testify to the fact that the decline of industry and construction is a long-standing issue in the Czech Republic, which has negative effects on the public finance system, employment, the standard of living of citizens and the prosperity of Czech companies. The main culprit in this state of affairs is the incompetent Fiala government, which is continuously increasing all direct and indirect taxes and is not fighting against the enormously high energy prices (the highest in Europe in purchasing power parity terms) and the mandatory application of EU regulations and directives. The SPD movement has prepared proposals for solutions, but their implementation presupposes the end of the Fial government and its replacement by a competent government defending Czech national interests with the participation of the SPD. We propose a reduction in direct taxation of Czech companies that are not subsidiaries of foreign corporations and Czech tradesmen, a reduction in VAT and excise duties, a temporary exemption of housing construction from VAT, state support for housing construction through the gratuitous transfer of state-owned land to towns and municipalities, and a reduction in real estate tax to the level before the Fialova government took office, a significant reduction in the state-regulated component of energy prices for manufacturing companies and the subsequent direct sale of power electricity to these companies from CEZ at a capped price, a gradual withdrawal from the EU Green Deal's climate and energy commitments, including withdrawal from the emission allowance liquidation system, and a number of other things we have prepared.
