Fisheries also play an important role in the national economy, with fish products topping the list of exports. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1976, China and Seychelles have developed strong ties, particularly in the fields of education and cultural exchange. The Seychelles-China Day, which has been held for 14 years, is an example of the deepening links between the two nations.
