VIENNA, 16 September. The 68th Ordinary Session of the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) opens in Vienna.
Representatives of Member States will discuss a range of issues, including nuclear security in Ukraine, the implementation of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) safeguards in North Korea, and IAEA safeguards in the Middle East.
The event traditionally takes place at the Vienna International Centre (VIC) and runs until 20 September. A scientific forum on Atoms4Food - Better Agriculture for Better Life will take place alongside the General Conference. Participants will discuss the use of nuclear technology in agriculture. The IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi will address the opening of the conference and the forum.
