Xi Jinping called for efforts to realize the strategic goal of making China a leading country in education.
Xi Jinping, who is also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks at a national meeting on education held in Beijing on Monday and Tuesday.

Xi Jinping said that after the 18th CCP Congress in 2012, it was decided to accelerate efforts to modernize education with the aim of making China a leading country in education by 2035.
