On the evening of 30 September, a reception was held at the People's Palace in Beijing to mark the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, President of China and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, attended the reception and delivered an important speech.
Xi Jinping pointed out that since the founding of the People's Republic of China 75 years ago, our Party has united and led the people of all ethnic groups of the country to work tirelessly and created two miracles: rapid economic development and long-term social stability, China has undergone tremendous changes, and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation has entered an irreversible historical process. In the new era and on the new road, the Chinese people will surely create new and greater brilliance and contribute more and more to the noble cause of peace and the development of mankind.
The reception was chaired by Chinese Premier Li Qiang. Nearly 3,000 Chinese and foreigners gathered to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
Wreath-laying ceremony to the people's heroes on Martyrs' Day was held this morning in Tiananmen Square in Beijing. Xi Jinping and other party and state leaders attended the ceremony.
