On September 28, China Media Group (CMG) held a special event in New York City, "Written in the Sky: My China Story", to celebrate the upcoming 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
CMG President Shen Haixiong participated via video. The event attracted nearly 100 guests, including Chinese Ambassador to the U.S. Xie Feng, Kean University President Lamont Repollet, Global Talent Alliance President and China National Friendship Award recipient Denis Simon, and George H.W. Bush Foundation for U.S.-China Relations President and CEO David Firestein.
In his speech, Shen pointed out that the event received over 1,600 stories from more than 60 countries, expressing the common emotions and aspirations of people around the world. Ambassador Xie called for greater cooperation and less competition between China and the US, and stressed the importance of dialogue to overcome differences.
