Xi Jinping pointed out the need to adhere to the idea of a strong army in the new era and the strategic principles that combine the basic principles of Marxism with the practice of building a people's army. It is important to draw on the richness of Chinese military culture, focus on the battlefield, military units and the future, concentrate on technology, war and changes in the capabilities of adversaries, optimize strategic planning, innovate research methods on military theory and promote the transfer of theoretical results to build China's modern military theory system. This system will provide scientific support for achieving the goals of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and the accelerated construction of a world-class army.
The conference was also addressed by the Vice-Chairman of the Central Military Commission Zhang Youxiawho called for a thorough study and implementation of Xi Jinping's guidelines and a focus on achieving a world-class military. The conference also discussed the issues of upgrading military theory, determined the division of tasks and measures to implement them, and heard presentations from six units.
