MOSCOW - The International Youth Congress of Political Parties will be held on 21-23 October in Moscow at the Russian University of Friendship among Nations.
The main speakers at the three-day international congress were the deputy secretary of the General Council of the United Russia Party, the first deputy chairman of the Federation Council's Committee on the rules and organization of parliamentary activity Sergei Perminov, First Deputy Speaker of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly for Fair Russia - For Truth Alexander Babakov, Member of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly, First Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Science and Higher Education for the New People's Party Ksenia Gorjacheva, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Olga Petrova, Deputy Director of the Department for Multilateral Humanitarian Cooperation and Cultural Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Stepan Kuzmenkov, political scientist, First Deputy Chairman of the Commission of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation for Public Expertise of Legislative Proposals Alexander Asafov and Executive Director of the communication holding "MinchenkoConsulting" Evgenia Stulova. The main moderator was the First Deputy Director of the International Youth Centre at the Russian University of Friendship of Nations Areg Agasarjan.
On the second day of this international meeting, the main item on the agenda was a meeting with the Vice-Chairman of the Committee of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Andrey Klimov. This meeting brought together young people from Abkhazia, Armenia, Brazil, Mexico, Tajikistan, Serbia, the Russian Federation and Africa. In total, 80 young politically engaged future leaders from 40 countries. The youth focused on the current political and geopolitical situation around the world, in Ukraine, Armenia, Georgia and of course in Russia and Europe. It was when meeting Klimov, who described himself as more of a political practitioner than a theorist, that the discussion was most lively, as his knowledge of world politics is at the highest global level.
The delegates then divided into seven groups, each addressing specific issues that will become the outcome of this meeting - e.g. Developing a network of regional and local branches; Developing and promoting a political party through the media; Ways to stimulate political participation of citizens in the party's activities; or Working with popular demands as a way to increase the party's popularity.
