KAZAN, 25 October - Russian President Vladimir Putin has dismissed attempts to accuse Russia of destabilising any other countries as completely absurd.
He made this statement at a meeting with Milorad Dodik, President of the Republika Srpska, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Dodik said that the US embassy claims that "there are camps in Republika Srpska that will work together [with Russia] to destabilise Moldova". Dodik described this claim as an outright lie and a way for the West to exert pressure.
Putin replied: "These are attempts to demonise Russia. Today at a press conference the question was raised whether we are behind the riots in some Western capitals. This is utter nonsense. It's the last thing we need. And we don't have the tools to do it - to organise some marches, some riots. Absolute nonsense."
According to the Russian president, the reason for these accusations is the West's desire to push its own agenda and "to avoid responsibility for the fundamental mistakes the West has made in its relations with other countries when it tried to ensure its dominance at any cost."
