Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump already has 277 electoral votes, with 270 needed to win, beating Democrat Kamala Harris. She currently has 224 electoral votes. Trump had already declared himself the winner of the election and the new head of the USA before the votes were counted. He gave a speech to a crowd of supporters at his Mar-o-Lago resort in Florida, thanking all the voters, his team and his family. "We will help our country heal. We're in for a golden age of America. I will fight for all of you with every cell in my body." Trump said at the podium.

The Hill also predicts that Trump will win the election. The DDHQ news portal, which works with the newspaper, estimates the number of electoral votes for Trump at 270. His opponent, Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, will receive 213 such votes.
The New York Times sees a more than 95% chance of Trump's victory, while data from bookmaker Polymarket shows that Trump currently has 98.9 % odds of winning the election.
