WINDHOEK - The whole of southern Africa is voting and in Namibia the latest ballot paper mishaps are filling the headlines this week. The vote is due on November 27.
The drought hangs over the country like an avenging angel, but the government is providing tax breaks and on Wednesday announced millions more in drought relief.
Meanwhile, frenzied development continues, grounding renewable energy, green hydrogen, for the sake of the oil and gas industry, which promises a lucrative future while mining and banking continue to drive the economy.
Soil and poverty are of great concern. Shacks on the outskirts of cities have sprung up like mushrooms all over the country.
Namibia remains a rich country full of poor people.
