A media campaign to promote youth exchanges between countries in the Global South was launched in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Monday.
The China Media Group (CMG), the G20 youth group Y20, and the Secretariat General of the Brazilian President have jointly launched the campaign.
Also announced during the opening ceremony was an initiative by 215 media organizations from 74 countries to promote media cooperation among the countries of the Global South.
CMG President Shen Haixiong said the campaign aims to create a platform for young people from the Global South to develop activities together in areas such as media and communication, art-making, social research and sports exchanges.
CMG and local youth and sports organisations in the Americas have also reached several agreements to collaborate on sports broadcasting.
The opening ceremony was attended by nearly 200 representatives of governments, media, cultural and business institutions from Brazil, Argentina, Mexico and other countries.
