On Thursday, Xi visited the city of Tongcheng, specifically the historic site of Liuchi Alley. This site is famous for a story from the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), when neighbors resolved a dispute over their land boundaries by moving each other's walls. The story symbolizes neighborly harmony and wisdom. Xi called for the protection of cultural heritage, the promotion of progressive socialist culture, revolutionary tradition and the values of traditional Chinese culture.
The next stop was the science and technology zone of Hefei Binhu Science City. Here, Si saw advances in the fields of intelligent connected vehicles, next-generation information technology, artificial intelligence, new energy and health sciences. He encouraged researchers and companies to strive for technological self-sufficiency and innovation that will strengthen China's scientific and technological strength.
The President's visit highlighted the importance of Anhui Province in the development of modern China, with an emphasis on linking cultural values and technological progress.
