Chinese President Xi Jinping called on the country's strategic missile forces to strengthen their deterrence and combat capabilities and unwaveringly carry out the tasks entrusted to them by the Party and the people. Xi, who is also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks while inspecting the missile force brigade of the Chinese People's Liberation Army on Thursday.
The brigade, which has more than 50 years of history, has focused on training under real combat conditions since the 18th Communist Party of China Congress in 2012 and has accomplished a number of important tasks.
Xi visited the brigade's training field, where he familiarized himself with the tactical and technical parameters of the newly introduced weapons and equipment. After familiarizing himself with the training, he urged the soldiers to use the weapons effectively and live up to the trust of the Party and the people.
The President also stressed the importance of strengthening troop training, improving combat readiness and developing new combat methods to effectively protect China's national strategic security and core interests.
