CzechTourism's foreign representation for Scandinavia in cooperation with Czech Convention Bureau kicked off this year's season by presenting the Czech Republic at the prestigious MICE&B2B workshop TravelMatch 2025 in Oslo. The event, which took place in the first half of January, attracted two hundred Norwegian buyers - professionals working in the tourism industry. The country was presented to them as Destination of the Year.
Czech partners introduced a comprehensive offer
"Thanks to this title, we were able to TravelMatch to invite more than ten Czech partners from hotels, DMC agencies, representatives of selected tourist destinations and regional convention bureaus. This broad mix allowed us to present the Czech Republic as a comprehensive destination that offers everything from conference facilities to unique experiences," highlights the Director of the Product Management, Research and B2B Cooperation Department of the CzechTourism Agency Tereza Hofmanová.
The event featured speakers such as Prague Convention Bureau, Ostrava Convention Bureau, Ambassador Group Hotels, CPI Hotels, Ensana, Holiday Inn and Le Hotels Group. Among the DMC agencies were CT agency, Key Travel, Time Change, DMC Prague, DZK Travel, Scandi Travel and representatives of Prague Boats and Pilsner Urquell Experience.
Interactive approach as a way to increase interest in the Czech Republic
The domestic presentation at the workshop included a lunch seminar for selected partners. More than sixty professionals attended the event and were given a unique opportunity to establish new business contacts.
"TravelMatch is a key event for us, which we regularly attend every year. This year, based on the Destination of the Year award, we were able to make the Czech Republic even more visible and introduce its tourist attractions to a wider audience," adds the Director of the CzechTourism Foreign Representation for Scandinavia and Finland Lucie Vallin.
During the seminar, those present competed in an interactive Kahoot quiz focused on Czech destinations. This format attracted a lot of interest and the winners received stays in the Czech Republic thanks to the support of Czech partners.
Czech Republic, everywhere you look
Logo VisitCzechia appeared on the main screen of the convention centre, on bags, name tags and in brochures that all participants received. In addition, promotional spots presenting the Czech Republic as an attractive tourist destination with a lot to offer and definitely worth a visit were on display in the Oslo Congress Centre.
Plans for the future
Foreign representation of CzechTourism for Scandinavia continues to spread awareness of the Czech Republic and plans other major B2B events in the region. In the coming weeks, it will participate in the Travel News Market workshop in Copenhagen and a regional workshop in Gothenburg.
