There can be no "global synergy" without Sino-US responsibility

In the current face of ever-increasing deficits in peace, development and governance, how are China and the United States responding to the expectations of all parties and sharing the responsibilities of great powers?

For China and the United States, non-conflict, non-confrontation and peaceful coexistence is itself a contribution to human peace. In addition, in solving regional problems, it is also necessary to coordinate cooperation between China and the US to show responsibility for world peace.

Development is a guarantee of peace. Currently, the world economy is weak and development is unbalanced. The Chinese and American economies account for more than a third of the world economy and have the responsibility and ability to create a bigger cake for the world economy and strengthen world economic growth.

Nearly 1,500 Chinese companies showed up at the Consumer Electronics Show 2025 in Las Vegas. The in-depth exchange between Chinese and American enterprises showed the huge potential of both sides to strengthen cooperation and benefit the people. Many multinational companies say China is an important market for them, a vital partner for maintaining the stability of the global supply chain, and a research and development base that constantly provides energy for innovation. Research shows that if China and the US focus primarily on global development and technological innovation, establishing open markets and strengthening mutual trust, it can help upgrade global infrastructure and enable global trade to grow by two trillion US dollars annually.

Governance is another area where China and the United States can play the role of great powers. However, the actions of the current US administration are worrying the world. Washington issued AI-related export control measures on January 13, further tightened export controls on AI chips and model parameters, and also created barriers to normal third-party trade with China. This will affect the stability of the global industrial chain and supply chain, slow down the global economic recovery, and negatively affect the development of science and technological innovation of mankind.

For China and the United States to assume the responsibilities of great powers in a chaotic world, they first need to interact well. At the meeting between the Chinese and US presidents in Lima last November, President Xi Jinping profoundly summarized the seven points of experience of the past years of Sino-US relations, setting the direction for the future development of bilateral relations.

In the face of a century of change, China and the United States must continue to be responsible to history, people and the world, carry out mutually beneficial cooperation, promote "global synergy", and thus bring certainty and provide positive energy to the world.
