China Media Group (CMG) on Friday held the third dress rehearsal for its anticipated Spring Festival 2025 Gala, which will be broadcast globally on Jan. 28, Chinese New Year's Eve.
Four sub-stages from the cities of Chongqing, Wuhan, Lhasa and Wuxi debuted during the latest rehearsal. A variety of performances were presented, including singing, dancing, magic, martial arts, and innovative performances, with the transitions between each performance significantly smoother.
The Chongqing sub-stage brought songs and dances with distinct local features, while the Wuhan sub-stage incorporated new opera, acrobatics, folk music and classic characters from movies and television.
The Wuxi stage combined traditional music with scene interpretations, showing both the historical context and modern civilization. Authentic ethnic performances on the Lhasa stage showed the friendship between people of all ethnic groups.
CGTN launched an interactive event called "Year of the Snake Dance Party" on global social platforms, which has already received active participation from users in 42 countries and regions around the world.
CMG will also launch a series of events, including art performances, intangible cultural heritage experiences and broadcast programs, to enable audiences abroad to experience the Spring Festival atmosphere and the charm of Chinese culture.
The first stop of this series was successfully held on Thursday in New York. Events will then continue in other countries, including Kenya, Spain, Brazil, Australia, France, Russia and the United Arab Emirates.
