The Holy See press office informed journalists that Pope Francis spent a quiet sixth night in Rome's Gemelli Hospital, where he is being treated for bilateral pneumonia, and had breakfast in an armchair.
"Pope Francis has had a restful night and this morning he got out of bed and had breakfast in his armchair," said the Holy See Press Office in a press release on Thursday morning.

On Wednesday evening, the Holy See Press Office issued a statement She toldthat the Holy Father's clinical condition "is stable" and that "the blood tests evaluated by the medical staff show a slight improvement, especially in the area of inflammation indicators".
She noted that after breakfast the Pope read some newspapers and then attended to his work with his closest collaborators, and that he received the Eucharist before lunch.
