PRAGUE - The management of the Motol hospital has expressed regret over the corruption case surrounding hospital contracts. It said it was aware of the impact on patients' trust. In a statement, it assured that it was taking steps to maintain the high level of care provided. Alena Schillerová, chairwoman of the ANO movement, told Echo24 that she would propose the case be put before the plenary session of the lower house on Tuesday at a meeting with the chamber's leadership and the chairmen of its parliamentary clubs. The Pirates, who are calling for an audit of risks in the health ministry, also want to discuss the issue.
"The management of Motol University Hospital expresses its deep regret over the recent events concerning allegations of corruption and other criminal offences related to some former members of our management. We are fully aware of the seriousness of these allegations and their impact on public confidence in our institution," the hospital said in a statement on its website.
"Safety and quality care for our patients remain our top priority. We have taken and continue to take immediate measures to ensure continuity of care and hospital operations. We are actively cooperating with law enforcement and providing all necessary assistance in the investigation. At the same time, we are communicating intensively with the founder," the management added that it is doing everything possible to keep the hospital running.
