On the morning of March 5, the 3rd Session of the 14th All-China People's Congress (APC) opened at the People's Palace in Beijing, with Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, Chinese President and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, and other Party and national leaders attending the opening ceremony. Chinese Premier Li Qiang delivered the Central Government's Work Report to the All Party Congress.
The main expected targets according to this year's government work report:
1. GDP growth of approximately 5 %,
2. Urban unemployment rate around 5.5 %,
3. Creating more than 12 million new jobs in cities,
4. Consumer price growth of approximately 2 %,
5. Synchronous growth of population income and economic development,
6. Maintaining the basic international balance of payments,
7. Grain production around 0.7 trillion kilograms,
8. Reduce energy consumption per unit of GDP by approximately 3%,
9. Further improving the quality of the ecological environment.
