U.S. companies in China continued to invest in China, the world's second-largest economy, last year even as confidence in future relations between the United States and China weakened, according to the latest U.S. Chamber of Commerce survey released on Feb. 26. Along with other foreign firms, they plan to expand their current business and seek greater market share in China in the coming years.
The survey was conducted between November 10 and December 23, 2024. 57 % US firms reported that they reinvested in China last year, which is consistent with the 2023 data. At the same time, 43 % US firms achieved revenue growth in 2024, while 38 % firms reported a decline in revenue.
