On Saturday, 4 November 2023, the President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel sent a telegram of condolence to Ram Chandra Poudel, President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal.
Mr. President,
I was very struck by the news of the devastating earthquake in the western part of Nepal, which, in addition to the enormous damage to property, has caused, above all, a great deal of loss of human life. I express my deepest condolences to the families of those who have lost loved ones in this disaster.
Let me also take this opportunity to acknowledge the commitment and bravery of all those involved in the rescue work.
Dear Mr President, on behalf of the Czech public, my wife and myself, I would like to express to you, the families of the victims and your citizens that we stand by you in these difficult moments and wish you every strength in dealing with the consequences of this disaster.
