MOSCOW, 11 November. /TASS/. The Il-76MD-90A prototype aircraft has successfully landed for the first time during testing and subsequently took off from the ground. This was reported by the press service of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec).
"As part of the test program, the Il-76MD-90A prototype aircraft successfully landed and then took off from the dusty runway. The Il-76MD-90A was developed by Il PJSC, part of United Aircraft Corporation Rostec," the company said in a release.
The Il-76MD-90A is an upgraded version of the Il-76MD with PS-90A-76 engines, providing lower (10%) fuel consumption, increased range to 5,000 km with a payload of 52 tonnes, and an expanded range of transported and airborne equipment and weapons. The aircraft is built from indigenous components. The new Il-76MD-90A has improved basic characteristics compared to previous versions. In particular, the aircraft's navigation and landing accuracy and the quality of radio communications have been improved.
