Berlin - Germany will double its military support to Ukraine next year. Instead of the four billion euros (CZK 98 billion) planned so far, it will provide eight billion euros (CZK 197 billion) to the country attacked by Russia, Bild reported, citing an agreement within the German governing coalition of the Social Democrats (SPD), Free Democrats (FDP) and Greens. The increase will significantly help Germany meet NATO's target of spending over two percent of its gross domestic product (GDP) on defence - specifically 2.1 percent.
