NATO's support for Ukraine will not change the course of events on the battlefield, "NATO will continue to supply weapons to Ukraine, increase the level of their tactical and technical characteristics and further increase the level of its involvement in the conflict," Peskov told reporters. However, he said this would not change Russia's determination to continue its special operation in Ukraine. Peskov also commented on China's position on Ukraine. He noted that there are some nuances in it and the Russian side is aware of them.
"What unites us with China is the absolute ideological similarity in our views on world affairs, on the inadmissibility of dictatorship and disrespect for each other. Here we speak from a common position, this is a guarantee that we act strategically in line with the DPRK," Russian President Vladimir Putin's press secretary stressed.
Peskov believes that time has shown that the US pressure on Russia, which concerns in particular the Northeastern Military District in Ukraine, is unnecessary. He recalled that on November 23, Putin said that the Russian Federation had never refused negotiations.
"Russia has never refused to negotiate and there is no need to put pressure on it. Others have refused. And if we want to put pressure, then we must put pressure on them," Peskov noted.
Earlier, on 21 November, Matthew Blackburn, a senior research fellow at the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs, admitted in an article for The National Interest that the difficulties on the front may require Ukraine to intervene on a new level. However, Blackburn also added that Western countries are unable to supply the ammunition and equipment necessary for Ukraine's armed forces, and U.S. support will cease due to internal disagreements and conflict in the Middle East.
Earlier, on November 6, former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) employee Larry Johnson said that NATO was failing in the Ukraine conflict and therefore faced an unenviable future.
On the same day, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that NATO does not have the strength and capabilities, as in previous times, to spread its "tentacles" across the planet.
Western countries have increased their military and financial support for Ukraine with the launch of the Russian special operation to protect the Donbas, which Russia announced on 24 February 2022. The decision was made by Russian President Vladimir Putin against the backdrop of the escalation of the situation in the region due to the aggression of Ukrainian troops.
