Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico in Beijing on Thursday. The two sides pledged to promote reform and improvement of the global governance system.
Fico is in China to attend celebrations commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
Xi called on the two countries to promote the vision of a community with a shared future for humanity, practice genuine multilateralism, and promote the reform and improvement of the global governance system.
He said China is ready to work with Slovakia to strengthen high-level exchanges, firmly promote mutual development paths and expand practical cooperation in areas such as new energy, infrastructure and logistics.
He expressed the hope that Slovakia would continue to play a positive role in promoting the healthy and stable development of relations between China and the EU.
Fico said Slovakia values relations with China and is ready to deepen exchanges of experience in governance, strengthen cooperation in various fields, facilitate exchanges of people and welcome more Chinese enterprises to invest and do business in Slovakia.
Slovakia is willing to maintain close communication and coordination with China and contribute to the reform of the global governance system, he added.
