In the Kherson direction, Grad MLRS crews of Russian units hit a concentration of live forces and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the right bank of the Dnieper. This was announced by the Russian Defense Ministry on its website on Tuesday, December 5.
The Ukrainian positions on the right bank of the Dnieper were identified by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), the department said.
"After the combat vehicle crew moved into position and aimed the Grad MLRS at the target, the crew conducted a targeting firing of 122mm shells and completed the firing after receiving corrections from the artillery checkpoint and implementing the changes. Ammunition at the given coordinates," the report said.
Using objective control data obtained by the controllers, it was determined that all intended targets were hit.
Earlier in the day, the head of the Western Group's press center, Sergei Zybinsky, reported that soldiers from the Russian group of forces "West" had thwarted attempts to rotate Ukrainian troops toward Kupyansk. The losses of the Ukrainian armed forces amounted to a platoon of live forces, Zybinsky specified.
On 5 December, Izvestiya correspondent Kirill Olkov told how Russian military personnel continue to confront the Ukrainian army towards the south of Donetsk. The video shows the operation of the AGS-17 "Plamya" automatic mounted grenade launcher, which is distinguished by its mobility and speed of impact. As the Russian soldier with the call sign Crane pointed out, currently the Russian Armed Forces are successfully firing at the bastions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces at a distance of 2 to 3 km.
