Central Bank: real effective exchange rate of the ruble rose by 6.4 % in November
The real effective exchange rate of the ruble (against the currencies of the Russian Federation's main trading partners, taking inflation into account) rose by 6.4 % in November compared to the previous month, according to the "External Sector Statistics" published on 12 December on the Bank of Russia's website.
According to the regulator, the exchange rate depreciated by 24.3 % year-on-year in January-November, while the real effective ruble-dollar exchange rate increased by 8.3 % in November. Against the euro, the increase in November was 6 %.
The effective exchange rate of the ruble is calculated on the basis of the exchange rates of Russia's main trading partners in accordance with the shares of these countries in the foreign trade turnover of the Russian Federation.
Meanwhile, according to trade data on Tuesday, the exchange rate of the Russian currency began to systematically strengthen, the US dollar approached 90 rubles, the euro - to 97. Earlier that day, financial expert, investor, partner of Barclay Finance Azam Khojaev in an interview with Izvestia predicted that the exchange rate of the Russian national currency against the US currency in 2024 will be relatively stable, at the level of 80-90 rubles per dollar.
