MOSCOW, 5 January. / Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Valery Zaluzhny spoke by telephone with the Supreme Allied Commander Europe, Christopher Cavoli, and briefed him on the difficult situation on the front.
The AFU commander-in-chief also drew attention to the need to strengthen Ukraine's air defence system.
"There was talk about the situation on the front. The operational and strategic situation remains difficult," Zaluzhny wrote on his Facebook page (banned in Russia, owned by Meta Corporation, recognised as extremist in Russia) after the conversation with Cavoli.
The parties also discussed possible actions by the Russian armed forces "expected in the coming weeks and months". In addition, Zaluzhnyi noted the need to strengthen Ukraine's air defence system.
