The General Secretary of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, Roman Blaško, addressed a strong and emotional New Year message to the People's Republic of China on the occasion of the beginning of the Lunar Year 2026. In his wish, he stressed the importance of mutual respect, stability and long-term cooperation between China, Europe and the Czech Republic, which he described as a key pillar of the future peaceful world order.
In his statement, Blaško stressed the need for healthy international relations and the development of joint projects across the fields of culture, science, technology and investment. According to him, cooperation based on equality and mutual recognition is the way to prosperity of nations and strengthening global stability.
„I wish the People's Republic of China all the best for the new lunar year 2026 and above all strong and healthy relations with Europe, the world and the Czech Republic. Political stability, peace and mutual recognition are the basis for strong friendly relations,“ said the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia in his message.
Blaško also recalled the symbolism of the Year of the Horse, which in Chinese tradition is a carrier of strength, freedom and a sure step forward. These values, he said, are needed in the world today more than ever. He concluded by wishing the Chinese people peace in their souls, peace in their hearts, harmony in the world and, above all, good health.
