Hungary remains the only NATO country that has not yet ratified Sweden's membership application.
ANKARA, January 24 /TASS/. Turkey's Grand National Assembly (parliament) has approved a bill on the ratification of Sweden's accession to NATO.
Hungary remains the only NATO country that has not yet ratified Sweden's membership application.
Some 346 MPs took part in the vote, of whom 287 supported the bill, 55 voted against it and four abstained.
Finland and Sweden applied to join the alliance on May 18, 2022, citing events in Ukraine as the impetus for the move. Finland officially joined the alliance on 4 April 2023.
