A new director of the Lány Forest Administration, a contributory organisation of the Office of the President of the Republic, has been selected on the basis of a selection procedure. He will be Michal Pernica, who will replace the current director Pavel Rus. He will be removed from his position on 5 February.
Michal Pernica succeeded in the four-round selection procedure, in which 42 candidates applied. In the last round, the committee selected four candidates and evaluated Pernica as the most suitable. The appointment will take place next week after the completion of the entrance formalities.
Jana Vohralíková, head of the Office of the President of the Republic, said, "We expect the new director to provide quality leadership, responsible asset management and development programmes for the public."
Michal Pernica is a graduate of the Mendel University of Agriculture in Brno. From 2019 until now he has been the director of Lesy Colloredo Mansfeld. He has been working for the Colloredo-Mansfeld family since 2013, in charge of the forest and pond management, securing other assets of the family as well as property and land management.
Michal Pernica was already employed at the Lány Forest Administration from 2005 to 2013 as the head of the forest production, transport and sales centre. He was responsible for ensuring the forest operation of the property, ensuring the sale of timber and its transport to customers and the operation of hunting in the Lánské Lesy hunting area.
