MOSCOW, February 28 /TASS/. The price of bitcoin rose by 4.99 % to $59,023 during Wednesday's trading session and exceeded $59,000 for the first time since November 20, 2021, according to Coindesk data as of 11:47 a.m.
At 12:01 Moscow time (9:01 GMT), the bitcoin price extended gains to 5.45 %, reaching $59,461.
Since February 26, the price of Bitcoin has increased by more than $8,000.
Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency invented in 2008 by an unknown person or group of persons using the name Satoshi Nakamoto. It is a decentralized digital currency without a central bank or single custodian that can be sent from user to user in a peer-to-peer bitcoin network without intermediaries.
