BUDAPEST, Thursday, March 7, 2024 (MTI) - The Heritage Foundation, America's best-known conservative research institute, held a panel discussion on the future of US-Hungarian relations on Thursday, with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán as a guest, the prime minister's spokesman Bertalan Havasi told MTI.
Kevin Roberts, President of Heritage, spoke with Viktor Orbán and the audience included some of America's most prominent right-wing politicians, analysts and public figures. The programme was introduced by Vivek Ramaswamy, an American conservative politician, commentator and former Republican presidential candidate. He said, "The world needs a movement for justice, for tradition, for families, for people."
During the closed panel discussion, Viktor Orbán was asked about the successes and challenges of Hungary's conservative family and economic policies, the war in Ukraine, US-Hungarian relations, President Trump and his personal political beliefs.
After the programme, the Prime Minister met with US media personality and political strategist Steve Bannon, an advisor to former President Donald Trump, at the Hungarian Embassy in Washington. Recall that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán also met with US presidential candidate Donald Trump and his wife Melania.
