MOSCOW, March 28 /TASS/. The United Nations hopes that the September Future Summit will bring decisions leading to a more equitable world order, Leonardo Santos Simao, the UN Secretary-General's Special Representative for West Africa and the Sahel, told TASS news agency.
"The Future Summit will take place in September. So we hope that at this summit, decisions will be taken that will lead to a better world, a fairer world, which will also create a more peaceful path because the debates will be different," he said, adding that he hoped political forces from the regions of North, South, East and West will join their efforts to build a better world for all.
In this context, he stressed the importance or looking at the financial aspects "and the need to reform the international financial institutions, particularly the Bretton Woods institutions, to address the issues of access to finance for development, financial development in Africa on the one hand, but also to address the issues of debt, which is another stifling aspect for Africa's development."
