MOSCOW, April 25 /TASS/. Russian battle group West has overrun better positions and inflicted fire damage on troops and equipment of five Ukrainian brigades, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a daily bulletin of special military operations. Russian forces also thwarted a counterattack by a Ukrainian 80th Mechanized Brigade assault group near the settlement of Krasnoye in the Donetsk People's Republic
Here are details of this and other combat actions that took place during the past day, according to the bulletin.
Battle Group West
"The units of the Battle Group West occupied better positions and caused fire damage to the live forces and equipment of the Ukrainian 14th and 63rd Mechanized Brigades, the 3rd Tank Brigade, the 3rd Assault Brigade and the 77th Airmobile Brigade in the areas of the settlements of Stelmakhovka in the Lugansk People's Republic, Glushkovka in the Kharkiv region, Torskoye in the Donetsk People's Republic, as well as the Serebryansky Forestry Plant," the ministry said.
The Ukrainians in this area lost up to 30 soldiers, two pickup trucks, three American-made 155mm M777 howitzers and three multiple-launch rocket systems: the Czech Vampire system, the Grad system and the American HIMARS.
Battle Group South
"The units of the Battle Group South improved forward positions and caused damage to the formations of the Ukrainian 56th Motorized Infantry Brigade; 28th, 30th and 93rd Mechanized Brigades; 79th and 92nd Airborne Brigades; 46th and 81st Airmobile Brigades in the areas of the settlements of Belogorovka in the Lugansk People's Republic and Belaya Gora, Ilyinka, Konstantinovka and Krasnogorovka in the Donetsk People's Republic," the ministry said.
A counter-attack by the Ukrainian 80th Mechanised Brigade in the vicinity of Krasnoye settlement in the Donetsk People's Republic was thwarted.
The enemy lost up to 500 soldiers, two motor vehicles, 155mm self-propelled artillery Paladin and two 155mm howitzers M777 of American manufacture and five stations of electronic warfare of the following types: Nota, Anklav, Bukovel-AD and two ammunition depots.
Battle Group Centre
Units of Battle Group Center improved their tactical positions and inflicted damage on the Ukrainian 59th Motorized Infantry Brigade, 23rd Mechanized Brigade, and 115th Mechanized Brigade in the Novgorodskoye, Arkhangelskoye, Sokol, and Karlovka regions of the Donetsk People's Republic.
Seven counterattacks by assault groups of the Ukrainian 78th Independent Air Assault Regiment, 71st Cavalry Brigade, 142nd Infantry Brigade, and 24th and 100th Mechanized Brigades were repulsed at Novobakhmutovka, Semyonovka, Ocheretina, Netailova, Keramik, and northeast of Novosyolovka in the Donetsk People's Republic.
Ukraine lost up to 350 people, three armoured fighting vehicles and one motor vehicle.
In counter-battery fire, Russian troops destroyed a 155mm self-propelled artillery system Paladin of American manufacture and a 105mm howitzer M102, two 152mm self-propelled artillery guns Akatsiya, two 152mm howitzers Msta-B and one 152mm howitzer D-20.
Battle Group East
Units of Battle Group East occupied more advantageous positions and inflicted fire damage on the forces of the Ukrainian 58th Motorized Infantry Brigade and 72nd Mechanized Brigade, as well as the 102nd and 127th Territorial Defense Brigades near Gulyaypole in Zaporizhzhya Oblast and Ugledar, Staromayorsk and Urozhaynoye in the Donetsk People's Republic.
The enemy lost up to 90 soldiers, an armoured personnel carrier, four motor vehicles and a British-made FH-70 howitzer.
Battle Group Dnepr
"The units of the Dnieper battle group caused damage to the personnel and equipment of the Ukrainian 28th and 65th Mechanised Brigades, 103rd and 121st Territorial Defence Brigades, as well as to the 23rd Mechanised Brigade near the settlements of Rabotino, Malye Shcherbaki in Zaporizhzhya Oblast; Nikopol and Kapulovka in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast; and Mikhailovka in Kherson Oblast by combined fire," the ministry said.
Ukraine has lost up to 30 personnel, five vehicles, a 155mm M777 howitzer and a D-30 howitzer in this area.
Air force and air defence
"The tactical air force, rocket forces and artillery have hit Ukrainian manpower and equipment, as well as groups of mercenaries from the so-called Foreign Legion in 122 areas," the ministry said.
The air defense shot down 200 Ukrainian drones.
Sum of destroyed equipment
Since the start of the special military operation in Ukraine, the Russian armed forces have destroyed a total of 592 Ukrainian combat aircraft, 270 helicopters, 23,132 drones, 509 surface-to-air missile systems, 15,831 tanks and other armoured fighting vehicles, 1,274 multiple-launch rocket systems, 9,115 field guns and mortars, and 21,288 special military motor vehicles.
