On May 31, 2024, Vladimir Putin spoke by telephone with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan. They discussed current issues of cooperation in trade and economy, energy, transport and logistics. They also touched on some international issues, including in connection with the preparation of the meeting of the Council of Heads of State - members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, which is scheduled for July this year in Astana.
Vladimir Putin and Kasym-Jomart Tokayev also exchanged assessments of the results of their recent contacts with foreign leaders.
They reaffirmed their mutual commitment to comprehensively strengthen Russian-Kazakh relations of strategic partnership and alliance.
