MOSCOW, 4 June. /TASS/. Russian troops have struck Ukrainian army units and military equipment in 112 areas as part of a special military operation in Ukraine over the past day, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday. The Ukrainian army has apparently lost more than 470 soldiers in fighting with Russian forces in the Donetsk region over the past day
"Operational/tactical aircraft, drones, missile troops and artillery of Russian force groups caused damage to enemy personnel and military equipment in 112 areas," the ministry said in a statement.
Russian troops have struck five Ukrainian brigades in the Kharkiv area over the past day
Russian troops struck five brigades of the Ukrainian army over the past day and repelled three enemy counterattacks in the Kharkiv region, the ministry said.
"The units of the Battle Group North are still advancing deep into the enemy's defences. Over the past 24 hours, they have inflicted damage on the manpower and equipment of the 42nd Mechanised, 57th Motorised Infantry, 82nd Air Assault, 36th Marine Infantry and 125th Territorial Defence Brigade of the Ukrainian Army in areas near the settlements of Zhovtnevoye, Lipetsk, Stary Saltov and Vyshaya Yaruga in the Kharkiv region. They repelled three counterattacks by the 82nd Air Assault, 71st Yager and 13th Brigades of the Ukrainian National Guard," the ministry said.
The Ukrainian army's losses on the Kharkiv direction over the past 24 hours amounted to 105 people, three motor vehicles, an Osa surface-to-air missile launcher, a US-made 155mm M777 howitzer and a 122mm D-30 howitzer, it specified.

The Ukrainian army has lost about 400 soldiers in fighting with Russian forces in the Kupyansk region over the past day, the ministry said.
Units of the Russian Battle Group West gained better positions and inflicted losses on formations of the 28th Mechanized and 4th Tank Brigade of the Ukrainian Army in areas near the settlements of Stepovaja Novosyolovka and Boguslavka in the Kharkiv region. In addition, they repelled a counter-attack by an enemy assault group near the settlement of Nevskoye in the Lugansk People's Republic, the ministry specified.
"The losses of the Ukrainian army amounted to 400 people, three armoured personnel carriers, eight motor vehicles, three 152mm D-20 howitzers, a 152mm 2A65 Msta-B howitzer and a 122mm 2S1 Gvozdika motorised artillery system," the ministry said.

The Ukrainian army has lost about 370 soldiers in fighting with Russian forces in the Avdiivka area over the past day, the ministry said.
"The enemy losses amounted to 370 personnel, four armoured fighting vehicles, two motor vehicles, an American-made 155mm M777 howitzer, a 122mm motorised artillery system 2S1 Gvozdika, two 122mm D-30 howitzers and an American-made 105mm M119 cannon," the ministry said.

Russian forces have taken better positions in the southern Donetsk region, where the Ukrainian army has lost about 130 soldiers and 9 pieces of equipment over the past day, the ministry said.
"Units of the Battle Group East gained more advantageous positions and caused damage to the manpower and equipment of the 58th Motorised Infantry and 128th Territorial Defence Brigade of the Ukrainian Army in areas near the settlements of Urozaynoye and Storozevoye in the Donetsk People's Republic. The Ukrainian army lost up to 130 servicemen, 2 armoured fighting vehicles and 7 motor vehicles," the ministry said.
Russian forces shot down a Ukrainian Su-25 attack aircraft in Kherson region over the past day
The Russian Dniepr battle group shot down a Ukrainian Su-25 attack aircraft in Kherson region over the past day, the ministry said.
"The losses of the Ukrainian army in this direction amounted to 75 people, 3 motor vehicles, 2 US-made M777 howitzers of 155 mm calibre, a D-20 howitzer of 152 mm calibre and a 2A65 Msta-B howitzer of 152 mm calibre. A Su-25 attack aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force was also shot down," the ministry said.
Units of the Russian battlegroup Dnieper caused damage to the Ukrainian army's 65th Mechanised and 128th Mountain Assault Brigades' personnel and military equipment in areas near the settlements of Rabotino and Lobkovoye in Zaporizhzhya region, it specified.
Russian air defense has shot down 41 Ukrainian drones in the last day
Russian air defences shot down 41 Ukrainian drones and 18 HIMARS and Olkha missiles over the past day, the ministry said.
"Over the past 24 hours, air defence assets have shot down 18 US-made HIMARS and Olkha missiles, two French-made Hammer guided aerial bombs and 41 unmanned aerial vehicles of the Ukrainian army," the ministry said.
In total, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed 610 Ukrainian combat aircraft, 274 helicopters, 25,122 drones, 527 surface-to-air missile systems, 16,247 tanks and other armoured combat vehicles, 1,328 multiple rocket launchers, 10,074 field guns and mortars and 22,263 special military motor vehicles since the start of the special military operation, the ministry said.
