On Wednesday 12 June, President Petr Pavel and Eva Pavlova received the President of the Slovak Republic, Zuzana Čaputová, and Juraj Rizman at Prague Castle. This is the last official visit of Zuzana Čaputová as President. They discussed with President Pavel Czech-Slovak relations, current events in Slovakia, the results of the European Parliament elections and the situation in Ukraine.
"I am very pleased to welcome President Zuzana Čaputová back to Prague today for her visit to the Czech Republic. Today, apart from joy, it is also with some sadness, because this is the last time I will meet her in the role of President of our closest neighbour. Through the President's personal approach, her friendliness, openness and fairness, relations between our countries have been deepened and strengthened in the desired direction in recent years. And for this she deserves a great deal of thanks," President Pavel said at a press conference.
The presidential couples will attend a performance together at the Dejvice Theatre in the evening, on Thursday they will have breakfast in Lány and in the afternoon President Pavel will present President Čaputová with the Order of the White Lion for her contribution to the development of relations between the two countries. The programme will end tomorrow with a gala lunch.
