MOSCOW, 13 June. /TASS/. Russia's Central Bank will set dollar and euro rates against the ruble on the basis of banks' reports on transactions on the over-the-counter market starting June 13, the regulator said. The relevant instructions of the central bank set out backup approaches to calculating the official exchange rate in case the currency is not traded, the regulator noted.
"Starting from June 13, 2024, the Central Bank of Russia will set the official exchange rates of the US dollar and the euro against the Russian ruble based on the data in the reporting statements of credit institutions according to the results of closed interbank conversion transactions on the over-the-counter currency market as of 15:30 Moscow time (12:30 GMT) of the current business day," the central bank said.
The fallback approaches to calculating the official exchange rate when the currency is not traded have been set out in the relevant central bank guidelines, the regulator added.
