The Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Czech Republic held a reception in Prague on 24 June to mark the resumption of direct flights between Beijing and Prague by Hainan Airlines. It was attended by more than 300 people from all walks of life from both countries. The reception was attended and speeches were made by Ambassador Feng Biao, former President Miloš Zeman, Director General of the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade Pieha, Executive Deputy Director of the HNA Business Committee Liu Jichun and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Václav Havel Airport.¨
In his speech, Ambassador Feng Biao said that the successful resumption of direct flights between China and the Czech Republic is a joyous event in the relations between the two countries, which will further promote economic, trade and tourism cooperation as well as humanistic exchanges between China and the Czech Republic, and help both China and the Czech Republic to exchange and cooperate in various fields and promote the stable and healthy development of the relations between the two countries.
Former President Zeman affirmed that the resumption of direct flights will play a positive role in promoting bilateral relations between China and the Czech Republic, and expressed his hope that the two sides will strengthen mutual trust in exchanges, explore the potential of cooperation and achieve common development. Pieha welcomed the resumption of direct flights between China and the Czech Republic and believes it will have a positive impact on bilateral cooperation. Liu Jichun and Klaus expressed the need to contribute to people-to-people Czech-Chinese exchanges and cooperation between the two countries by building "air bridge" between China and the Czech Republic.
