China Media Group (CMG) on Friday held a farewell ceremony in Beijing for its team that will cover the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, starting July 26.
Shen Haixiong, Vice Minister of Promotion and President of CMG, and Vice Presidents Hu Jinjun and Xing Bo attended the ceremony.
Shen stressed the importance of 2024, when China will celebrate 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China a 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations with France. He stressed the importance of the Olympics for Chinese athletes and called on the team to make every effort and excellence in the transmission of the Games.
Shen also mentioned that CMG's cooperation with international sports organizations is at an all-time high. The Paris Olympics will be an opportunity to bring together ideology, art and technology. CMG plans to leverage its strengths in exclusive news production and advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence and 8K resolution.
CMGas one of the major broadcasters of the Games, will deploy a team of more than 2,000 people and technology "5G+4K/8K+AI" to provide high quality news coverage to a global audience.
