On the occasion of the 24th Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), the China-SCO Media Roundtable Dialogue was held in Astana on 3 July, organised by the China Media Group (CMG).
Government officials and heads of major media organizations from SCO member states held in-depth discussions on "Rallying Media Power to Promote the "Shanghai Spirit." They praised the achievements of China and SCO countries in media cooperation and other areas, and expressed their hope for further future cooperation in building a closer SCO community with a shared future.
During the event, the "Initiative for Deepening Practical Cooperation between CMG and Media of SCO Member Countries" was presented. In the future, all parties will promote the "Shanghai Spirit" and jointly prepare a series of new media-type programs under the title of "Our Shanghai Spirit," which will be produced by the CMG ahead of the SCO Summit in 2025. A cooperation mechanism of "Eurasian Partnership" was also launched, which will ensure all-round cooperation at multiple levels in the areas of news sharing, program exchanges, joint production and broadcasting, media training, personnel exchanges and others. This mechanism will harness the power of the media to promote people-to-people and cultural exchanges and mutual learning among SCO member countries.
