How do we achieve a "future" shared by all humanity?

At the UN Summit for the Future, UN Secretary-General António Guterres said he was pleased that all countries were strengthening their unity and facing increasingly serious crises and challenges together.

This is one of the most important high-level meetings of the United Nations this year. What kind of future does humanity need? How do we build a better future? That's what the world is thinking about.

On the first day, all parties endorsed the "Contract for the Future" and its annexes, the "Global Digital Compact" and the "Declaration on Future Generations". The Treaty embodies the determination and willingness of all parties to reform the international governance system, revitalise multilateralism and better respond to challenges. It is considered by all parties as a "milestone" that paints a blueprint for the future development of the world.

China, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, strongly supported the holding of the Summit for the Future. If the "Treaty for the Future" seeks answers to what kind of world we should build and how we will build such a world, then many important initiatives and multilateral actions that China has put forward in the international community in recent years are most in line with the original intention of the Treaty.

"China has become an important pillar of multilateralism, and our purpose in practicing multilateralism is to build a community with a shared future for humanity," noted UN Secretary-General Guterres. It also inspires people: if the concept of a community with a shared future for humanity is more widely embraced in the international community, the global challenges that plague people will be easier to solve and the prospects for a "Covenant for the Future" will be more optimistic.

The Chinese say, "The road is long and hard, we will reach the goal if we keep moving forward." As long as all sides adhere to the spirit of the agreement, think through the issues, and make decisions based on a shared future, replacing division with unity, replacing confrontation with cooperation, and replacing exclusivity with tolerance, a better world will not be a dream.
