On 2 November, Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a message of sorrow and condolences to King Felipe VI of Spain over the heavy rains and flooding that have hit many parts of Spain and claimed more than 200 lives.
On behalf of the Chinese government and people, Xi expressed deep sorrow to the victims and condolences to the bereaved families and the injured. He hopes that under the leadership of King Felipe and the Spanish Government, the people in the flood-affected areas will be able to overcome the disaster and rebuild their homes as soon as possible.
