PRAGUE - On Friday, Komerční banka published its consolidated financial results for the past year in accordance with international accounting standards. They show that net profit attributable to shareholders rose 4.7 percent year-on-year to CZK 18.1 billion. The Bank thus continued its stable performance of previous years, even in an environment of persistent economic uncertainty and gradually changing interest rate conditions.
Komerční banka's total revenues reached CZK 36.9 billion last year, an increase of 0.2 percent year-on-year. According to the bank, revenue development was mainly driven by stable interest income and cost base management, while some items faced pressure due to slowing economic activity and the competitive environment in the banking sector.
At the same time, the Board of Directors of the bank proposed to pay a dividend of CZK 95.60 per share. The total amount of the dividend should correspond to the entire net profit for the past year, i.e. CZK 18.1 billion. The proposal will be decided by the general meeting of shareholders, which has been convened for 23 April. If the proposal is approved, Komerční banka will continue its long-term dividend policy oriented towards a high share of profits paid to shareholders. For comparison, for 2024 the bank paid a dividend of CZK 91.30 per share, also in the amount corresponding to the entire net profit.
The year-on-year increase in the dividend thus reflects not only the higher economic result, but also the confidence of the bank's management in the stability of the capital position and the ability to generate profits in the coming period. Komerční banka has long been one of the largest banking houses on the Czech market and its results are closely monitored by investors and analysts. The published figures confirm that the institution maintains a strong profitability and a conservative approach to risk management, which is reflected in both the economic result and the profit distribution proposal.
According to experts, the bank's performance this year will depend mainly on the further development of interest rates, demand for loans and the overall state of the domestic economy. However, the results for the past year suggest that Komerční banka is entering the next period in a relatively stable financial condition.
