The 2025 uniform rate is out. Are you self-employed and had income in a foreign currency last year? You can use the uniform exchange rate of 24.66 CZK/EUR and 21.84 CZK/USD for conversion.
- Self-employed seniors will be able to claim a social security discount for the first time. The rate will be reduced from 29.2 % to 22.7 % in the reports for the CSSA. It also applies to the flat tax.
- The minimum social security contributions of self-employed persons will drop. An amendment is being prepared that returns the minimum assessment base to 35 % of the average wage and reduces the advance from CZK 5,720 to CZK 5,005.
- The Single Employer Reporting starts in full in April. What do you need to comply with before then? You must register as an employer, report hires and terminations, and report changes, always within 8 calendar days.
- The register of insured persons is changed into a register of employees. As of April, all workers will be listed here, regardless of whether they pay social security.
- EET will return in 2027. The government envisages the return of EET, small businesses will have a choice between registration and a special flat rate.
- Managing directors are not liable for the tax debts of their companies. According to the Supreme Administrative Court, only tax arrears are not sufficient to hold an executive liable.
- Going back to work? Expect stricter rules. You must now work at least 9 months between registrations to get full benefits.

- Don't forget to reduce your road tax. The lower rate applies to cars with V-code air suspension.
- Interest in the flat tax is growing. This year, over 11 thousand self-employed persons have joined the ranks, and over 125 thousand entrepreneurs are using the flat-rate tax. Only 5 thousand of them are in the second or third band.
The Revenue will help people with their returns. Officials will go to 119 municipalities. Specific municipalities and dates can be found on this page.
- The number of self-employed persons has increased again, one third of them are foreigners. Last year, 26 thousand foreigners started their own business in the Czech Republic, of which 15 thousand were Ukrainians and 3 thousand Slovaks.
- A record number of companies are failing to pay their taxes. There are over 26,000 unreliable taxpayers, the highest number since 2013.

- Customs officers stopped a truck, uncovered a tax debtor. The goods in the truck were going to a company that owed over CZK 1.2 million in tax. The company was threatened with foreclosure on the goods and the managing director decided to pay part of the tax on the spot.

- Pay your quarterly windfall profits tax deposit by March 16.
- Pay your quarterly income tax deposit by March 16.
- File your 2025 employment tax return electronically by March 20.
- File a return by 31 March to claim your 2025 excise tax refund. Applies to crop and livestock production.
