China helps island states to tackle climate change

Climate change threatens the future of many island countries that depend directly on natural conditions for their existence. China has been actively supporting these countries through cooperation in recent years South-Southfocused on sustainable development and reducing our carbon footprint.

V Papua New Guinea was created through a Sino-Papuan partnership Low Carbon Demonstration Zoneto help the country better cope with the impacts of climate change. The project provides modern technology, expertise and inspiration for other countries in the region facing the same environmental challenges.
