Come and admire the beauty of the cuts! We have prepared for you an original
costumes from the Czech Television Dance Competition
Glittering, elegant and sophisticated to the last detail - these are the dance costumes of one of the most watched TV competitions. This time they will shine not on the dance floor, but in the Dancing House Gallery at the exhibition Dresses that Dance. The exhibition, which will run from 10 November to 25 February next year, will offer over sixty outfits of famous performers of the popular Czech television dance competition, such as Dana Batulková, Maria Doležalová or Ondřej Brzobohatý, or presenters Tereza Kostková and Marek Eben, and many other evening gowns on two floors of the house.
Creating garments for dancers is a real challenge in the entire fashion industry. Dresses have to meet a number of often conflicting requirements. They should enhance the natural grace and personality of the wearer, while matching the style and spirit of the music to which the couples are dancing. Be both modern and timeless. Subtle and robust. To accentuate the curves of the figure while giving the dancers freedom in their often extreme movement. In addition to dance dresses, the exhibition Dresses that Dance also shows haute couture evening gowns that rank among the world's highest levels of tailoring.
This difficult task has already been accomplished, for example, by designers Klára Nademlýnská, Tat'ána Kovaříková, Hana Hill Kopecká and others when they created costumes for the popular Czech television dance competition. Originals from their workshop were loaned to the exhibition by the Czech Television costume shop and some of the unique evening gowns are from private collections.
The exhibition offers, among other things, costume designs, photos from the competition and gives a glimpse into the preparations for the evening's make-up, hair, dressing up to the sparkling atmosphere before the live broadcast. The gallery has also thought of young admirers and prepared several interactive games for them.
