Peng Liyuan, wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping, chats with Aigul Japarov, wife of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, over a cup of tea in Beijing on Wednesday.
Peng welcomed Japarov, who is accompanying President Japarov on a state visit to China for the Spring Festival. Peng stressed that China and Kyrgyzstan have a long-standing traditional friendship and expressed her hope that the people of the two countries will maintain frequent exchanges and build close ties.
Cultural exchanges are an important bridge for people-to-people exchanges, Peng said, expressing hope that exchanges and cooperation between China and Kyrgyzstan will flourish.
Peng also expressed her appreciation for Japarova's enthusiasm for social charity and public philanthropy, and looked forward to strengthening cooperation between China and Kyrgyzstan in protecting the rights and interests of women, children and vulnerable groups to bring mutual benefits to both nations.
